RESOLUTION NO. 97-236
A RESOLUTION AMMENDING POLICY 1.1, FIGURE 4 AND FIGURE 5 OF THE CITY OF LAS CRUCES BICYCLE FACILITIES AND SYSTEM MASTER PLAN (PA-96-03).
The City Council is informed that:
WHERAS, the City of Las Cruces has adopted the Bicycle Facilities and System Master Plan, and
WHEREAS, Policy 1.1 of the Bicycle Facilities and System Master Plan establishes the Bicycle Facilities Advisory Committee, and the local bicycling community desires representation on this adv isory committee but is not permitted under the current policy, and
WHEREAS, Figure 4 and Figure 5 in the plan represent existing bicycle facilities of the City's bicycle system and the implementation of new facilities have been completed since the plan was adopted, and
WHEREAS, the Planning and Zoning Commission, after reviewing the amendment and conducting a Public Hearing on November 13, 1996, recommends that this amendment to the Bicycle Facilities and System Master Plan be MENDED and APPROVED by the city Council.
NOW, THEREFORE, Be it resolved by the governing body of the City of Las Cruces:
(I)
THAT Policy 1.1, Figure 4 and Figure 5 of the City of Las Cruces Bicycle Facilities and System Master Plan be amended as described in EXHIBITS "A", "B", and "C" attached hereto and made part of this resolution.
(II)
THAT as new bicycle facilities become implemented or existing ones are improved, City staff may update Figure 4: "Existing Bicycle System" and Figure 5: "Bicycle System for the City of Las Cruces", and all text referring to same in the Bicycle Facilities and System Master Plan to provide the public with the latest information on existing bicycle facilities.
(III)
THAT the City staff is hereby authorized to do all deeds necessary in accomplishment of the herein above.
