GOAL: Advance the use of bicycles as a viable mode of transportation and recreation within the City of Las Cruces and MPO area.
OBJECTIVE 9: Promote the use of bicycles with current transit services and other intermodal facilities/uses.
POLICIES:
9.1 Procedures for determining the need for bicycle carrying racks on specific transit routes shall be established for those transit routes that overlap or cross existing and future bicycle facilities. 9.2 Bicycle parking structures should be provided at the central transfer point for the LCAT - RoadRUNNER Transit System. 9.3 Landscaping, lighting, and signage improvements should be made at bus stops with high volumes of bicycle and transit usage and interconnection. 9.4 Bicycle parking should be provided at park-and-ride areas that coincide with existing and future bicycle facilities. 9.5 Feasibility studies for bicycle facility improvements should be conducted on all other intermodal facilities, including:
a) airports;
interstate/intrastate rail facilities;
c) interstate/intrastate bus facilities;
d) park and ride drop-offs;
e) carpool/vanpool facilities.
